Mullen Mouth Pelham
A Pelham is often used for horses that prove too strong in a snaffle. The leverage action of the Pelham uses poll pressure to gain greater control, whilst placing even pressure on the tongue and the bars of the mouth.
The Mullen Mouth Pelham has a basic mouthpiece with a milder action than jointed versions of this bit. This fixed mouthpiece is less mobile in the mouth and applies pressure to the tongue and lips, having minimal interference with the roof the the mouth. The slight curve in the bar allows more room for the tongue in the mouth, and is an ideal mouthpiece for horses with a sensitive mouth, or those that are adverse to more complicated mouthpieces. The Mullen Mouth Pelham can be used with double reins or Pelham roundings.
